Batara Group, a Pioneer Building Materials Distributor Since 1972, Showcases Innovation at IndoBuildTech 2025

Hundreds of visitors stopped by the Batara Group booth during IndoBuildTech (IBT) 2025, held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City from July 2–6, 2025.

As Indonesia’s largest annual exhibition for building materials, architecture, and interior design, IndoBuildTech brought together exhibitors from across Indonesia and around the world. The event was expected to attract more than 135,000 visitors representing various sectors of the construction, architecture, design, and property industries.

Among the distinguished guests attending the opening ceremony were representatives from the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works, the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) Banten Chapter, the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII), and PT Debindo ITE, the event organizer. Daniel Surya Tandi, President Director of Batara Group, was also in attendance.

Daniel praised IndoBuildTech 2025 as an important platform for architects, designers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and expand their professional networks.

"IndoBuildTech serves as a highly relevant platform for advancing the quality of building design in Indonesia while strengthening the position of local architects on both the national and international stage," he said.

As one of Indonesia’s pioneering building materials distributors, Batara Group remains committed to providing high-quality products and exceptional service to its customers.

According to Daniel, the company’s competitive advantage is built on three key pillars: product quality, continuous innovation, and the ability to adapt to an increasingly modern and dynamic market environment. These values remain deeply rooted in the vision established by the company’s founding generation—to provide reliable, high-quality building materials that meet the evolving needs of the market.

"Today, Batara Group is undertaking a major transformation to strengthen its leadership position in the market through product diversification and continuous service innovation," Daniel said during an interview at the company’s booth at IndoBuildTech 2025.

Transforming into a Comprehensive Building Solutions Provider

As part of its ongoing business transformation, Batara Group is reinforcing its identity as a comprehensive building solutions provider, offering support throughout the customer journey—from product selection and technical consultation to after-sales service.

Daniel emphasized that maintaining competitiveness in the building materials industry requires continuous innovation, product excellence, and responsiveness to changing market demands.

At the same event, Reissa Siregar, Commercial Director of Batara Group, explained that as the company celebrates its 53rd anniversary, it is strengthening its market presence through a broad range of strategic initiatives.

"We are implementing various improvements across both internal and external operations, including product development, technology adoption, marketing strategies, human capital enhancement, and the expansion of our distribution network," Reissa said.

Responding to the growing trend of wellness-oriented living and increasing demand for premium-quality properties among upper-middle and affluent consumers, Batara Group showcased several leading brands within its portfolio.

Featured products included CASALI and WISPROOF waterproofing membranes, POLYSHIELD and POLYNUM roof insulation systems, and OZVENT ventilation turbines. Additional solutions on display included VISCOUS sealants, DUOROCK mineral wool insulation, and SMARTCUBIC phenolic boards.

According to Reissa, Batara Group’s commitment to the Indonesian market extends beyond product offerings. The company continues to focus on expanding business partnerships, strengthening distribution channels, and building long-term collaboration with key industry stakeholders.

More Than Five Decades Supporting Indonesia’s Construction Industry

Daniel noted that IndoBuildTech 2025 provided a strategic opportunity for Batara Group to engage directly with industry professionals, business partners, developers, architects, contractors, and end users.

Founded in 1972, PT Batara Surya Semesta (Batara Group) began as a small building materials shop on Jalan Pinangsia in Jakarta. Over more than five decades, the company has evolved into a trusted distributor of premium building materials and an important contributor to Indonesia’s construction supply chain.

In an industry where property development and construction are closely interconnected, building materials distributors play a critical role in ensuring project efficiency, quality, and continuity.

With more than 53 years of experience, Batara Group is now pursuing a comprehensive transformation strategy designed to strengthen its market position through portfolio diversification, operational excellence, and customer-focused service innovation.

Batara Group’s products have been specified in numerous landmark developments undertaken by leading Indonesian developers, including Paramount Land, Metland, and Ciputra Group.

Today, the company serves both the project and retail segments, with approximately 65% of sales still generated from project-based business. However, as Batara Group expands its presence through major retail channels such as Mitra10 and Depo Bangunan, it expects a more balanced contribution between project and retail sales in 2025.

Through continuous innovation, strategic expansion, and a strong commitment to quality, Batara Group aims to further strengthen its position as a trusted building solutions partner for Indonesia’s growing construction and property sectors.
